Therese & James {Aruba wedding}

October 14, 2010

Where do I even start with these guys. This whole experience with this couple, their family, and this wonderful island was uh-mazing. It was my first time in Aruba and it won’t be my last if I can help it. It’s not called  “one happy island” for nothing!

When I arrived at the Divi Phoenix Resort, I found a welcome basket in my room that Therese had made me, she is so sweet, I felt like a real guest! It was great hanging out and getting to know this crazy crowd, I really do have the best job!

Therese is an ER nurse and James is a firefighter, I think it’s pretty cool that they both help people. James was delivering a patient to the ER and that’s where this lovely ginger locked eyes with him – he was pretty eager to rush people to the emergency room after that! Therese looked radiant on her wedding day – I love red-haired people, the freckles are so cute and Therese’s amazing eyes are definitely representing. They had an amazing wedding planner (really one of the best) who arranged a beautiful beach wedding and we were able to take some photos at the island’s famous Divi-Divi tree. The strong north-west winds force the trees to grow like trees you’d imagine on an African savannah (when I got lost on an adventure, I found my way back to my west coast resort by following the growth of the Divi trees). We also did a day-after shoot where we traveled all over the island’s coast – such amazing and random sights! Thank you so much for everything, it was such a highlight and I wish you both the best and lots of freckly offspring.

This Boston Bruin couple has something quirky and special about their relationship. I couldn’t figure out what it was until I heard it in the Maid of Honor’s speech, she said she asked James what he liked most about Therese. He said he liked her stubbornness. The MOH was right when she said that he really gets her. This is true love.

This was just a sneak peek! For guests at the wedding, you may view the images at the online gallery. Please ask Therese & James for the password.

This was at the famous Alto Vista Chapel

A pre-ceremony was held to honor Aruban wedding tradition at Town Hall

There were literally thousands of these little rock piles - tourists make them and then make a wish!
