Kimi + Justin [Victoria BC wedding photographer]

May 21, 2013

I first met Kimi a couple of years ago when we did a photoshoot together, I instantly liked her easy-going nature and genuine kindness. She is also stunning on the outside so I was thrilled to photograph her as a bride as well. Justin is also a sweetheart and the pair go well together, during his reception speech he mentioned that Kimi was the best thing to ever happen to him. You can tell he feels that way about her, and I thought hearing the words out loud was really sweet.

It was my first time shooting at Starling Lane Winery and it has already weasled it’s way into my top 5 favorite places to shoot in Victoria – the location could be the lovechild of the hobbit shire and Ella Enchanted! It oozes Romance.Unfortunately it did rain during the outside ceremony but Kimi walked the aisle like a champ and I actually feel that the rain added to the moment. The sun came out for the kiss and that was magical too.

Justin works at Uplands Golf Course (it was a shared love of golf that brought them together). Naturally, the reception was held there and I love that it has sentimental value.

It was my first time experimenting with Multiple Exposures in-camera (That is how you get the tree pattern within a portrait silhouette), I think I’m going to adopt this technique more often!

It was also the first wedding with my new photobooth, it was a real hit and everyone loved the instant souvenir prints.

Kimi and Justin, I would wish you the best but I know you don’t need my wishes for that because you have each other.

Everyone got an instantly printed 4X6 thank you with their three photos
