Vancouver BC Wedding Photography

October 10, 2014

This was the last wedding of 2014 for me and I knew it would go out with a bang. After I photographed Jillian + Shawn’s engagement session, I knew that these young lovebirds were going to have an especially romantic wedding, and they didn’t disappoint!

The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the vintage-esque Brock House near Jericho Park in Vancouver. Hailing from Alberta, but with their hearts set on the west coast, it was important that we captured the lush greenery and cool vibes of BC in their images. This included a first look in Deep Cove followed by images in Stanley Park.

I knew they would be up for anything so I brought a feather pillow, a pair of scissors and combined the two on a mission to attain the image below

Jillian and Shawn have matching hearts – both sensitive, romantic and artistic and these qualities echoed in the wedding ambiance and respective families. Shawn sent Jillian a good morning video to play as well as 50 letters, one to be opened every year on the anniversary for the next half century. Jillian has been secretly writing “reasons why I’m marrying you” everyday in a book for the past year – they range form simple and goofy to simple and profound and were featured in her vows to him. Then he surprise acoustically serenaded her at the reception.

Oh, and Shawn and his dad have matching weddings bands because his parents were accidentally sent two groom’s bands when they go married, so they kept it for their future son. It’s really cool to see them together since one band’s pattern has been worn 25 years longer than the other.

I can’t wait to show more images from this unforgettable day, but for now I give thee the ever-incriminating photobooth photos HERE.
