Several years ago I met a talented photographer in photography school named Katie Hillier. Little did I know that she would recommend me to photograph her sister’s wedding half a decade later! It’s always a little bit of extra pressure when photographing a photographer’s wedding or related to, but the Hillier family was so welcoming and made my job super easy and fun! Their speeches were funny, insightful and had everyone tearing up. Combined with unique details, I felt like I really got to know Emily and Matt.

What can I say about this adorable duo? They met in musical theatre and they proved it by singing their vows to each other in an eloquent duet. The ring bearers were dressed as little hobbits and they also cut their cake with swords (the couple, not the hobbits). They had a groom’s cake that was a master ode to The Night Before Christmas and an airstream trailer that was transformed into a Whiskey Lounge. If “A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream” and the “Phantom of the Opera” had a love child, it would be their floral arrangements (which also had several of their favourite fictional characters hidden throughout).

All of this and more brought to together by an amazing local wedding team Filosophi. It was a glorious day and I’m so happy to have photographed these amazing moments! More photos to come but for now, guests at the event can access their photobooth images HERE.   Vancouver-BC-Wedding-Photography
