The Mistletoe Project {Christmas Gala supporting the MS Society}

December 20, 2010

What a pleasure it was to be involved again this year in the Christmas Gala at the Victoria Events Center! Last year, the worthy cause benefiting from the event was the Big Brother’s Big Sister’s foundation. The brainchild of Erin Smith and Donald Peterson, this Christmas they directed their festive efforts towards the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. Inspired by the will of their close friend who lives with MS, 10% of all proceeds go directly to her aid. For more information on this event, check out The Mistletoe Project.
What a fantastic excuse to get fancy (and get your man suited up) to drink rum and eggnog, and to dance the night away. Though the same festive air was there, I noticed a few changes this year, including a DJ from West Coast DJ’s, new live band SugarFix, more items in the silent auction, and a Christmas tree for my photobooth area. Speaking of which, was my station ever busy! with the massive photo booth line up, the time just whizzed by! It was lots of fun, and as the night wound up (and the drinks went down) we were getting even “better” photo shoot ideas.
The end of the night saw approximately $10,000 raised for MS! a KGOODPHOTO photo shoot gift card in the silent auction went for $175 to a lucky Kristie Burns (we are already planning her engagement photos) and the generous donations in the photo booth jar lended $250. It just goes to show what we can accomplish when we all come together.
Thank you to everyone who attended the Gala – Happy Holidays and we’ll hopefully see you next year!
